Over 9 million people haven’t collected their stimulus check. This may be your one & only chance to collect the first economic impact payment. People who don’t normally a file tax return or don’t receive certain federal benefits have until Oct. 15 to get up $1,200 in aid for individuals and $2,400 for married couple by the end of the year. Many might also be entitled to an additional $500 payment for each dependent child who was under 17 at the end of 2019. You don’t need earned income or a job to qualify for a stimulus payment.

As unemployment is set to expire end of this month, there’s a possibility of extension. If it’s approved, it’ll most likely to be set for $400 per month through December 2020.

Did you claim a dependent on your tax returns? Here’s what you need to know Claimed dependents are not eligible for an additional $500 payment. Only children eligible for the Child Tax Credit are qualified for the payment up to $500. Child must also be under age 17 at the end of the year. Dependents who are College students do not qualify for an EIP & even though their parents may claim them as dependents. However, if the student cannot be claimed as a dependent by their mother or anyone else for 2020, that student may be eligible to claim $1200 credit on their 2020 tax return filed next year.
