JOIN THE KITTY DEVORE RESCUE FOSTERING TEAM! The Kitty Devore Rescue Team has been rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming the kitties of Devore Shelter since Dec...ember of 2011. One thing we know for certain is that no rescue would be possible without our amazing foster parents. They are priceless! Some people think money saves lives. While funding is definitely a necessity when it comes to rescue, it’s worthless paper without a dedicated and caring foster mom or dad to step up and be the difference that makes all the difference to a homeless kitty in need. Our volunteer foster parents are the backbone that makes our rescue strong and enduring. They are the guardians who take kitties from a state of being where they are neglected or unwanted to a life where they are loved and treasured. They are the selfless heroes who have made the choice to be the difference that makes all the difference in the world for shelter kitties in need. They are people like Sherri.Sherri joined the KD team in June of 2016 and has fostered many kitties - and foster failed with one very special kitty, Tipster, years ago. Sadly, Tipster developed FIP, a very deadly disease, and passed away. Sherri was devastated over the loss of her special boy but, rather than give up on rescue work, it only made her more determined to help others in need. She began her own one-woman TNR crusade in the San Diego area, helping countless homeless cats and kittens with assistance with the San Diego shelter system - a system that does a lot to help kitties get adopted. She’s still active with KD though - temp fostering from time to time, pulling on occasion and transporting. We consider it a blessing to have her as a dedicated member of our crew. Kitty Devore Rescue supports our foster parents by: Providing a comprehensive fostering program with handbooks and guidelines to ensure fostering and adoption success. Ensuring the vetting process procedures for every kitty we rescue is posted to keep everyone on track toward adoption. Providing foster parents with a care package for every kitty we rescue. Working with veterinary offices in nearly every county in Southern California. Covering the cost of all vetting and medical expenses. Offering support at any time of the day or night to help foster parents troubleshoot common - and not so common - fostering issues. Working collectively every day to get the Devore kitties rescued, rehabilitated and rehomed into amazing homes.
