Happy Tails Adoption Story! When Irwin (formerly Shotzi) came into a city shelter in a trap, he was an angry boy (check out the last picture to see his shelter picture)! He acted so feral when we rescued him, we had no reason to believe that he would ever be happy as a companion kitty, so we placed him as a working cat, where he could be free from humans and to hunt rats. Then something happened. He began to seek attention from people, telling us that he wanted a differe...nt type of home. So Irwin re-entered our foster and adoption program to become a companion kitty. When his new guardian read Irwin’s story, he felt an immediate connection. His new dad told us that he was a shy child, who came into his own later in life, just like Irwin. Within one day, the two of them are best buds. We love finding all cats homes, but there is something special about gaining the trust of a wary cat and finding the perfect person for them. Adopt Benji! You have probably already seen this hunk in some of our social media posts because, well, he is just such a grand and irresistible boy. Exciting update: Benji is ready for adoption! He is three years old and is sweet tempered and affectionate. He is FIV positive, which means that a virus has caused chronic immune compromise which makes him more prone to infection. Nova That face! Those long legs! we just had to share this photo. This is Nova, a playful six year old who now resides at our Sanctuary. He was considered semi-feral when he first arrived, but he has come around some and now allows pets. SENIOR SUNDAY: Love at First Sight That’s what happened when we met Lady, a beautiful long haired calico who sadly was left behind when her family moved out of the country. Lady immediately greets you when you visit, welcomes pets, and purrs up a storm. She is still in her standard quarantine and has had blood work done which came back with excellent results. This makes us happyespecially because Lady is 18 years old! Today also happens to be the start of Adopt a Sen...ior Pet Month and we know of no better way to kick it off than to present Lady.
