Barbara and Joan walk to their local senior center together to pick up Grab & Go meals every week "The meals have been very helpful this year because of less income and raised rent." said Barbara. Joan added, "I really appreciate the volunteers. Everybody is so friendly and helpful!"

May is Older Americans Month! Originally proclaimed "Senior Citizens Month" by President John F. Kennedy in 1963 as an effort to increase awareness for senior issues, it was renamed two years later when President Lyndon B. Johnson passed the Older Americans Act of 1965. The Act introduced nutrition programs, federally-funded adult daycare, and other services that continue to support older Americans today.

We received over 600 Valentine's Day cards and crafts donated to us from schools, community groups, and even local artists! Aren't they beautiful!? Our volunteers were able to deliver the items to participants at the Anaheim Adult Day Health Center, Meals on Wheels clients, and some Grab & Go locations! THANK YOU to everyone who used their special talents to spread the love this holiday
