On this Christmas Eve, we want to celebrate mama Sophie in her furever home. Sponsored by Happy Tails, Sophie came to Kitten Central with three tiny kittens of her own. Being the sweet and loving cat that she is, she happily agreed to be a surrogate mom and add three more abandoned newborns into her litter for a total of six tiny babies. She took them in like they were her own. As a reward for her generosity, Sophie eventually got and recovered from Mastitis, a bacterial... infection of her mammary glands. Foster mom Elaine says Sophie and her babies were the best litter she’s ever cared for. A few weeks ago, Fiona and her family were looking for a new kitty and there was Sophie at Happy Tails just waiting for them to find her. Fiona says two-year-old Sophie is a sweet, tiny cat with a tiny squeaky meow. While reading Sophie’s medical records, Fiona found out about Kitten Central’s role in saving Sophie and her babies. She contacted us to thank Kitten Central for all we did to help save Sophie and her babies from a life on the streets. Thank you for your kind words, Fiona. The phrase at Kitten Central is always It’s all about the kittens, but, really, it’s about the mom cats, too. We love them. Merry Christmas and welcome to your new furever, Sophie! You’ve earned it! I went to Rocklin Road Vet yesterday and met our little Gideon. What a SWEETIE!. He is scheduled to have his surgery on Tuesday to re-plum his privates. He also has the dreaded RINGWORM to boot. He wants to play with people so badly, but ringworm spores can go everywhere so his connect time is limited. He wanted me to tell all you donors and supporters, THANK YOU for funding his medical account!

UPDATE- Thanks to you, we hit our goal and then some!!! I am going over to Rocklin Road Vet to meet Gideon today and see when his surgery is scheduled. xoxoxo Meet Gideon!! He is a 10 week old black persian that was sucked on by his siblings and needs corrective surgery so he can urinate normally. We are looking to raise approximately $850 to get this done. Can you please click on the link below and donate today?

And the secret is............ Our volunteers and employees have worked in my kitchen, then a rented Mobile Mini. It's time to really set our roots in this thing called neonatal kitten medical rescue....Permit #1 under our belts, now to design and blue prints for this 1000 SF conversion. Most likely a 2-3 year project, but we wanted to share the news with all of you today!!!

I have a REALLY BIG secret!!!!!!

Kitten Central of Placer County 03.05.2021

UPDATE 11:21 am - SHE MADE IT!!! Only 13 days old, this is the youngest kitten Dr Kaur ever operated on. Several Dr's & RVT's brought her through. Any donations here will go straight to her bill. THANKS FOR THE PRAYERS!!! Tiny Freya is currently in surgery at Rocklin Ranch Veterinary Hospital. She was born with a very mangled back leg with an infection moving upward. Without the surgery the infection would have won. This is a 50/50 surgery as she is so tiny. ICU nurse Tina has been caring for her. If she survives, she will spend tonight at Loomis Basin and Tina will get her back tomorrow. Big prayers for this angel today. THIS is what Kitten Central is all about!

Jennifer Pollak-Blalock (Medical Foster Mom) Today I said farewell to my amazing little paralyzed man Mr. Business. He went to a new foster mom who is a student at U.C. Davis and a part of the orphan kitten project. I cried happy tears knowing he will be well cared for and have everything he needs. Rescue is hard work but it's the little win's like this that make it worth it!

This was a tough one. From Foster Amber...God has sadly called another of our angels home. Our precious foster Matilda (Mattie, Tilly, Mattie May, Tilly Tot, Tilly Bean) suddenly left us this morning from heart failure. Tilly was almost 6 months old and had a hereditary skin condition called Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. We had planned on foster failing with this spunky, sweet and special girl. Our hearts are broken all over again as you can imagine. From Penny, and this was a week after Amber suddenly lost her sister. Please give Amber your love now as she goes through this very sad time. We love you Amber!

HUGE SHOUT OUT TO Placer Community Foundation for the $10,000 grant to help us cover expenses that our fundraiser Labor of Love always made, but due to Covid 19 we had to cancel. This will cover payroll for 3 months and medical supplies that have been depleted due to the massive amount of kittens we received during the spring births while most all local rescues and shelters were closed. We past 500 kittens for this season weeks ago. THANK YOU SO MUCH TO PCF!!!!!!!!

Kitten Central of Placer County 13.07.2020
