Text-to-911 is the ability to send a text message to reach 911 emergency call takers from your mobile phone or device. However, because voice calls to 911 provide more information to 911 call centers, you should always make a voice call to 911 during an emergency whenever possible.

Our Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) deputies are on 2400 block W. Sonoma Ave in Stockton at a house related to the suspect we arrested last night on Ryde Ave & Alpine Ave. We have asked the FBI's assistance to help search the home and take inventory of items that may be dangerous. As an extra precaution, we sent deputies to the houses in a vulnerable area, around our crime scene, and asked them to evacuate. We are asking the public to stay out of the area until we clear the home.

This afternoon, deputies attempted to make a traffic stop on a vehicle. The driver failed to stop for our deputies and a pursuit ensued. The suspect driver rear-ended a truck in the area of Ryde Ave & Alpine Ave in Stockton. The deputies were able to take the suspect into custody. Medical aid was given to the passengers in the truck. The passengers of the truck seem to have minor injuries yet are being checked out by medical professionals. While searching the suspect's car,... a suspicious item was found that resembles a small explosive. Our Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) deputies were called to the scene. The team was able to render the item safe and dispose of it. This is a very active investigation. Please stay out of the area as we are working on all the details.

Sexual predator arrested Thanks to the help of our community members, after a lengthy investigation, a search warrant was served today at the 1900 block of 9th Street in Stockton. A well-known member within the Hispanic community for his gift of massage (despite not having any schooling in the matter) Emiliano Canada-Vargas, 53, was arrested for several felonies including forcible rape and sexual assault.... At this time we have several victims that were very brave to come forward. However, Canada-Vargas has been in this business for approximately 30 years and people come to see him from all over. We believe there may be other victims. If you or someone you know has been a victim of his, we ask that you contact Detective Arreola at 209-468-4425 or 209-468-4443. You can remain anonymous. **Help us by getting the word out and sharing this post.
