VISITATION NOTICE Dear Visitors, Vendors, Volunteers and Students: We recognize that media reports and dynamic conditions related to COVID-19 (CORONAVIRUS) can create uncertainty and anxiety within our own communities as well as within our Nursing Center. Our primary goal remains to keep our residents, staff and each other safe and healthy and support one another as we go through this current epidemic. We write today to provide additional Visitation guidance, and to remind y...ou of best practices to safeguard our Center residents and staff. We have revised our Center Entrance and Visitation procedures to respond to the coronavirus situation. Center personnel will now ask visitors, vendors, students, and volunteers 4 questions about recent travel to areas impacted by the Coronavirus including but not limited to mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, South Korea, Japan, Singapore, Italy, and Iran. If you have traveled to any of these or other countries that may be affected by the recent travel bans, we will restrict visitation and ask that you refrain from visiting for a minimum of two weeks following your return to the US. We are also taking every precaution to protect our residents and staff from other flu like viruses, so we are mandating that individuals who may also be experiencing flu-like symptoms, including fever, chills, body aches, cough, fatigue, sore throat and headache, to avoid visiting the nursing home while contagious for a period of up to14 days after onset of symptoms. Only adult, healthy immediate family members may visit nursing home residents at this time. These recommendations have been established to protect our residents who are at high risk for contracting an illness and those with weaker immune systems. You can help limit the spread of illnesses including COVID-19 as recommended by the CDC by taking these steps as you would to prevent infection from flu and the common cold: Avoid close contact with people who are sick. Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth. Stay home when you are sick. Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash. Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces using a regular household cleaning spray or wipe. Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing. If soap and water are not readily available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol. Always wash hands with soap and water if hands are visibly dirty. For additional up to date information on the Coronavirus (COVID-19), we recommend that you visit the CDC website at: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html Thank you for observing these guidelines. We will continue to update our website as the situation evolves and our visitation policy changes.
