Bringing in the new year with our 2020 inspired hobby
a winter update from Kids in Harmony - https://mailchi.mp/2ce/a-winter-update-from-kids-in-harmony
One of my family’s most treasured traditions around the holidays is attending the Nutcracker. As a family, we get dressed up, go out for a special dinner, and celebrate this magical performance. It is something we look forward to. This year, we need to improvise to reflect the current Covid regulationsbut we will not miss out on this tradition, it will just be different. We will still get dressed up, have a fancy dinner, and then snuggle up on the couch with our girls (age...s 4 and 6), and watch a virtual performance from the comfort of our home. Afterwards, we might even get a little crazy and have a Nutcracker performance/dance party of our own (which is one of our favorite family activities). What I have loved most about these creative ways of carrying out our traditions, is that the girls seem to love every minute of the time and attention we give them, no matter how it plays out. What will you be doing to get creative with your holiday family traditions? Share with us for some new, fresh ideas on how to make this time of the year as special as it was in the past. See more

In "PBS KIDS Talk About: Race & Racism," real families discuss racial identity, standing up for yourself and others and more. Check it out on PBS KIDS Family Night this Friday at 7 p.m. ET or anytime this weekend on the PBS KIDS Video app! https://to.pbs.org/3eBk9a4
Dyslexia DeCodEdThis is an opportunity for parents and educators to learn more about how to support our children with dyslexia. The Yale Center for Dyslexia and Creativity is one of my #1 go-to sites for the latest research and information. https://microsoftedu.eventbuilder.com/dyslexiadecoded
Thank you teachers! You make this world a better place! You have proven how skilled and resilient you are over and over! Always making our children’s minds grow and learn!
What a great idea for those children struggling to stay In Front of the computer! Also great for those who are more hands-on kinesthetic learners.
I just read that The Dyslexia association is now offering free memberships for teachers. Sign up and get access to tons of information and resources! https://dyslexiaida.org/membership-ac/membership-checkout/
Reading or Listening to Audiobooks not your thing? We all process information differently. Maybe podcasts will be different. Here are some that you can try. I would love any feedback on what you find. https://blog.feedspot.com/dyslexia_podcasts/
This program looks promising and affordable for reluctant writers!
