Armenian Genocide Remembrance Day. This monument was dedicated on Fresno State's campus in 2015. Today President Biden officially acknowledged the genocide, som...ething other presidents have avoided because of Turkey, a NATO ally who calls the genocide a "tragic experience" of Armenians. Armenia is still a country carrying many wounds from centuries of threats to its survival - some as recent as last year. Fresno is home to many in the Armenian diaspora, people we admire and honor for their resilience and fortitude. May this day of remembrance remain a strong tradition in the Central Valley so we may all carry their story with us and, hopefully, never see it repeated.
