Thank you Congressman Kevin McCarthy for the wonderful presentation today.
We are very glad to be in a hybrid meeting model. Please remember to bring something for Mini Kenny's handout.
Calling all Rotarians! Super Bowl Sunday at Petroleum Club at Sundale. Portion of ticket sales benefit Waterman Foundation. Contact Petroleum Club or go to PCBTheClub.com for tickets.
This photo was taken years ago when our President and Sergeant at Arms were just children. Did they dream that their Rotarian lives would soar to such heights?
Swanky Swag Bag! Say that 10x fast. Thanks to all who ordered! You will not be disappointed when you see what's in store.
We caught President Ken on the far right hanging out with some old friends. See you all tomorrow for an extra special Zoom! Margarita time is approaching...
Looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow! We have a COVID Connect from one of our newest members and an update on the famous margarita party! Also, please enjoy this picture of President Ken.
We are looking forward to seeing you all on Thursday. As always, Mini Kenny has some words of wisdom, and there's a surprisingly cuddly COVID Connect.
Pat Collins (chairman of the Waterman Foundation), announced the Waterman board, recognizing and responding to immediate needs in our community, wanted to provide needed funds to local organizations. Although, there will be ongoing request for donations to support the foundation and this cause, and recognizing many organizations are in need, the board's decision was to respond now. The board decided to Grant $10,000 to three organizations: Dignity Foundation, Memorial Foundation, and the Homeless Center. Funds are restricted to help offset any capital investment needs in the fight against COVID-19. This is above and beyond the annual GRANT giveaway ( which committee will be making their decisions soon).

Dixie Brewer, owner of In Your Wildest Dreams, consignment and antique store, presented on the Downtown Business Association’s Block to Block Program. The Downtown Bakersfield Block Captain program supports the heart of our city at a micro-level. Using the smaller, more commonly associated boundaries for downtown, our downtown covers almost 300 square blocks. This is a large area to manage well. The micro-objective approach provides a platform to serve each block in small-scale form, with small-group interactions. -Photos by fellow Rotarian GIRISH PATEL
BARRY has been with Tejon Ranch for 15 yrs Prior to that, he was a newscaster for KERO He also stated we are not able to rely on anything he says... for legal reasons. Tejon Ranch is 270,000 acres of total property. Established in 1843 as a Mexican land grant, this grand sweep of territory was home to some of the Old West’s most illustrious exploits. Trappers, hardy settlers and frontiersmen, outlaws, the Camel Corps, Butterfield stagecoach lines and Army drag...oons all traversed its range. Historic pioneers such as Jedediah Smith, Kit Carson and John C. Fremont explored Tejon’s frontier. In the decades following its founding, the Ranch grew in size as additional land grants were purchased by Tejon’s founder, General Edward Fitzgerald Beale, an explorer of the west and a historic figure in early California. -Photos by fellow Rotarian GIRISH PATEL See more
MARK SANDOVAL gave the presentation. His claim to fame is that he was the only tight end in college ball history to throw a touchdown. MARK makes it his job to reach out to veterans in outlying Kern County towns to see if they would like to go on the Honor Flight for free.. -Photos by fellow Rotarian GIRISH PATEL
The presidency of Tim Banks II, Bakersfield West Rotary and his missing bell has now become legendary.
RON SAYLOR is a California based, Gold Medal Award Winning Professional Magician that blew away our Rotarian lunch crowd! He specializes in Close-Up Magic but also performs Large Stage Illusions. He performs at Private Parties to Theatrical Productions and is a regular at The Magic Castle in Hollywood. -Photos by fellow Rotarian Mike Willis
Looks like the President of West Rotary has already lost control and is missing a bell. LOL
Here’s to a great upcoming year! -Photos by fellow Rotarian Girish Patel
