The Kennedy Jenks team partnered with Power Engineering Construction Company and Joe Hill Consulting Engineers to repair the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (SFPUC)'s Southeast Outfall Islais Creek Crossing, overcoming tidal challenges and limited facility shutdowns during construction. The team installed a 48" HDPE pipe using the float and sink method and brought the new pipeline online in less than one year (from the start of design in October 2018) before the start of the wet weather season! Congratulations to all members of the team on a job well done.

KJ’s Ryan Holloway, along with two colleagues from the Colorado School of Mines completed a significant research study that was recently published in the online edition of Science Direct. The article is titled ‘Enhancement of Activated Sludge Wastewater Treatment With Hydraulic Selection’ and addresses critical issues involving activated granular sludge. Kennedy Jenks’ client Silicon Valley Clean Water (SVCW), a Joint Powers Authority (JPA) in Redwood City, California is featured in the current issue of ‘Clean Water,’ the publication of the California Water Environment Association. The Kennedy Jenks SVCW team received grant funding from the California Energy Commission to evaluate food waste organics co-digestion technology. Based on the successful results, SVCW is planning to implement the full-scale organic co-digestion ...program by 2022, with the potential to double its current biogas production by 2040.
