What a Great loss to the bourbon world Al Young who has served in a variety of roles at Four Roses for the past 52 years. In 1990, he became Distillery Manager and in 2007 was named Four Roses Brand Ambassador!! To me Al was an exceptional down to earth person! He made every encounter we had special and personal. One of my favorite memories with Al was sharing a table with him and his wife Gretchen at the Kentucky Bourbon Festival Gala, he kept us entertained the entire night... with his stories. Another memorable occasion was when we had breakfast together at the Brown Hotel and he recommend I try the world famous "Hot Brown" ... delicious! No matter if we were talking bourbon or how he met Gretchen he was just a genuine great person with a wealth of knowledge about the history and heritage of bourbon! He was so special to us that even our last two barrel picks with Four Roses were actually named after him and each featured a picture of him on the bottle with the names Spicy Al and Sweet Al You will be missed Al Young! We have a wonderful evening planned, focused on high end selections from Patron. We'll be featuring 5 fantastic selections from Patron's elite Roca and Gran lines. Saidey Walen w...ill be joining us from Patron to present these exceptional tequilas and offer insights on each selection. Chef Erin will be pairing each tequila with its own dinner course. Chef Erin specializes in pairing food with wine and spirits, with a slightly different approach than most. Prior to creating a menu, each selection is tasted and reviewed and then she creates a food pairing, highlighting the nuances of each selection. This concept creates a dinner and pairing experience with layers of complexity and unique creations which exemplify the enjoyment of each spirit. With a passion for food, wine and spirits, Chef Erin delights attendees with a detailed account of the pairing concept and cooking techniques that create each course. Expect a fabulous evening of whiskey, food & educational insights! *Please note that the majority of seating for this event is upstairs in the wine cellar/loft area.
