The low light picture doesn’t do it justice, but this is why I do this. Glistening colors on ice. The shirts underneath will be lovely, but this... this is priceless. . #doitfortheprocess #ineedsleepimdelirious #rainbowart #rainbowicedye #icedyeprocess #icedyeing #tiedye #latenightcrafting #latenightthoughts
I'm tying up two of these today... one in custom colors, one in the original set. Anyone else want to get one in this batch? I have several other sarongs on hand, with and without fringe. They make great wall hangings too!
My dye To-Do list for the next week: 1) Dye the custom geode kitchen towels I already have tied up for a friend 2) Prep, tie, and dye two well-loved pairs of white jeans a customer is sending me to give a second life... 3) Work up color and design samples for Pride Flags! I want to have my colors locked down and have a few design variations to put up as options on Etsy. Tell me: are there any particular pride flags you’d love to see as a dyed design? I obviously have my rainbow design and I’ve done the Trans flag before. I definitely am working up a Bi flag color set as well. But I’d love more thoughts about designs (should I just make stripes, or do you want to see wavy lines/mermaid scales/zig-zags?) and which flags to work up! There are so many!
And the etsy store returns! Right now it's all listings for made-to-order specific items/designs. I am continuing to dye up random old stock for fun/to clear space, and will be posting those ready-made one-offs to facebook/instagram, so keep following!
First go at mixing scales and rainbows. I have a few things I want to try differently next time, but it’s pretty cool still. What do you all think? . This is a Turkish towel, which makes a great lightweight beach towel/picnic blanket/etc. I made it as my first experiment with this particular medium, but if anyone wants it, it’s yours for $45 shipped in the US.
For Easter , I gave myself the of to rinse out later this week.
Sooooo... Dharma Trading Co now makes unitards. I said I was stopping clothes, but I kinnnnnnda can't wait to get my hands on one. I would need to sell for about $45.
I'm planning to open up shop for a limited run of pre-ordered rainbow-stripe dye items for Spring/Summer/Pride. My goal would be to order stock from Dharma Trading Co by the end of March in order to do all dyeing and shipping in April, so everyone has their stuff in plenty of time for whatever fun events they have planned as things get warmer. The way I intend to run this is having people pick their OWN item and sizing from Dharma Trading Co when they order. I would accept or...ders for basically anything they offer in white cotton or rayon, but I would double check all orders and advise people if there was any reason I thought an item wouldn't work. Standard item pricing would be 3 times the highest listed price of the item on Dharma Trading Co and would include special requests that are easy for me to accommodate with my process (for example: "could you make sure the yellow part of the rainbow isn't by my face, please?" is easy to do), but any modifications requiring substantial extra labor would require price increases or would be denied. For items Dharma Trading Co does not carry, YOU would buy the item and have it shipped to me for dyeing, and I would negotiate pricing based on size and complexity of the item. This would likely apply to used/thrifted goods or home decor items. I'm currently looking to see the level of interest before I actually set up an order form. This one is a wrap/shawl
Last two custom clothing requests I took before shutting down for the school year, finally shipping out. Grateful for customers willing to be this patient! . #icedye
