Happy Halloween from the Coop!

These little blooming flowers were such a hit today for science! The kiddos thought it was magic. To make your own follow these very simple instructions. 1. Find a free printable flower template on Pinterest or make your own! Have fun using different flower shapes as long as the template is symmetrical. 2. Have your littles decorate the flowers. We used markers and it was fun to watch the colors bleed off of the paper once the flowers were fully in bloom. It created a fun t...ie dye effect that kept their attention for a little longer. 3. Cut out the flowers and fold each petal towards the center one by one. Be careful not to crease them too much or your flower may not open all the way. 4. Fill a dish or pie pan with a little bit of water and place your folded flowers gently onto the surface of the water. 5. Watch them bloom in a matter of seconds as the paper absorbs the water! Have fun with it. I made little smiley faces as a little surprise. The kiddos all colored their own and took one home to show mom and dad the magic they learned

April is the month for birthdays around here! We have celebrated 3 amazing little girls the past couple of weeks. Addison, Addie and Emma you are so loved and I hope years 2 and 3 are filled with wonder and joy!

Happy Monday! Spending some time out in our favorite spot! Can’t wait until our little garden starts supplying some delicious food. Really looking forward to teaching these littles how to tend the garden and compost. In the future we will get to taste the fruits of our labor and learn to recycle our scraps to feed the chickens.

The aftermath of some serious sensory fun! This is one of my favorite things to do with the kids and we do it frequently. Paper covered table and add in all sorts of manipulatives to dip, roll and brush the paint with. They are even free to squish it between their hands and use their fingers to paint. The best part is, aside from cleaning the paint brushes and rollers, the paper on the table picks right up for easy cleaning.

The kiddos have been LOVING the new babies! My heart can’t handle the sweetness

Recently we made adorable marble painted bunnies for one of our Easter crafts. After cutting out the bunnies I had a hard time parting with the left over scrap. I ended up cutting it up into different shapes for an open ended abstract project. Problem solved! Seriously though how gorgeous are these?!

Had a blast today with some process art! These butterfly sun catchers are going to be so beautiful hanging in our window with all of this wonderful sunshine we are getting! I love the way art makes you play! We experimented with marbling, dripping paint and then pressing the butterflies to the left over paint to experiment with the different outcomes. I can’t wait for these to dry!
