Have you had platinum highlights before that looked bomb in the hair but made you feel a bit washed out? Let’s breakdown why Platinum, icy, cool, ashy, are all tones to describe hair that has COOLER undertones. (Violet, blue, green). Cool undertones are beautiful, but they don’t feel as bright because light reflects off cool hues with less brilliance than warm tones. ... WARM tones (yellow, orange, red) reflect light with incredible brilliance. Think of putting a blue metallic ring next to a gold ring, the gold ring will always looks brighter and shinier. That’s light reflection. It’s because of this light reflection that if you want a maximum bombshell blonde, you must have warmth Neutral beige tones are an excellent option if that’s what you crave, like what we used on this babe @mamastoss

Are you ready for something transformative? Lauren sure was! (Swipe for before) I used our ‘bombshell blonde’ technique of fully foiling the hair while painting through the ends for maximum brightness. Closer to the base I kept the highlights super soft and seamless and left more of her root out. That way, as her roots grow in they won’t be as obvious. Maintenance for a look like this is a full retouch every 10-14 weeks and toner retouch every 4-6 to keep it from looking brassy!

May we all be blessed to have hair so long it doesn’t fit in the frame. Katie was craving a big transformation with her hair. That can feel scary! Exciting, yes, but scary nonetheless. Especially if you’ve felt left wanting after previous attempts at your dream honey/caramel blonde. ... We talked about what she wasn’t loving about her current color, what she should expect maintenance wise, and what exactly drew her eye to her inspiration to ensure we were totally on the same page before we started. I literally couldn’t stop staring at the end result

Do you feel like a bombshell? Or is your hair feeling kinda blah? I’m all about the low maintenance blonde life, but Madalyn encouraged me to go against my soft and blended norm by wanting a much bolder blonde and no toner, for maximum brightness! The result was incredible. ... Bolder pieces can often look harsh and forgoing a toner has the potential to look super raw and brassy, but both can be worked around with a bit of customization and patience. I diffused the root line when painting the money piece creating a softer grow out while maintaining the wow factor. As for skipping the toner, I let the lightener sit long enough to bust out any yellow. **Not all hair can do this. It’s entirely dependent on the strength of the strands, what tones your hair pull and how well you’ve cared for it.

One of the reasons I swear by Element Mango Deep Conditioner is because it’s incredibly light weight, while still packing a PUNCH! With ingredients like banana juice, oat protein, and castor oil, our mango keeps your hair healthy and productive without the weight. Think of it this way- have you ever used a lotion that was so thick it didn’t absorb and just sat on your skin feeling slimy? That’s what’s happening if your conditioner is too heavy for you. ... The truth is, 80% of us are using a heavier conditioner than we need to. You’re throwing moisture at your hair but it’s just feeling weighed down and slimy. Blonde hair needs movement and dimension, I will die on this hill. Next to darker tones blonde POPS 10x more, dimension can maintain tonal values more (helping the blonde not look so brassy), it improves the look of the grow out, and it’s like...really pretty. Does your blonde need some contrast? Book an appointment through the link in bio!

Are you feeling inspired by your hair? Or is it just hanging out not contributing anything exciting? It’s my mission to give you hair that excites you when you look in the mirror. That’s why it was so much fun painting some lighter tones into @naomii.08 on her first professional color visit! When you feel good, I feel good, and this hair- is just SO good.

The best part of a big change is the sense of total renewal of spirit I witness in my guests when they leave my chair. I am in love with this big chop on Danielle! Her incredible head of hair had gotten so long it was distracting from these gorgeous eyes (and brows!! @eastonbajsec). The cut created a new and fresh look overall with minimal maintenance!

If you have your hair highlighted regularly, and you’re still not feeling lighter & brighter, it’s not the right placement for you. While it’s true that your individual strands should be lighter overall to achieve a brighter blonde, it’s more important to focus WHERE you want that lightness to live. I personally love adding your brightest tones to the hair that lives closest to your face and incorporating a bit more natural around your root area. That way, you still feel super blonde as you grow out, but there are no harsh root lines to battle.

Do you change your hair with the weather? I’m a firm believer that new seasons call for a new look. It’s a physical representation of the transition from cooler temperatures to warm and welcoming spring days. We painted in dimensions of lighter tones through this beautiful head of hair on Ana and created so much more movement throughout her hair as a result! She’s ready to face the spring with a low maintenance look and the option to go even brighter when summer hits. @anad004

So obsessed with the dimension and movement of this blondie. Megan’s hair is always so much fun to paint because it’s sheer density provides so much canvas to create on. I complimented her highlights with a pear based lowlight to add some underlying violet tones to her blonde. And of course this cut is to die for with a soft sweepy bang and some layering to significantly lighten up the hair. I’m so in love with everything about you @meganjaneburgess

I hold so much gratitude in my heart for what I do, not only because being a hairstylist is the best, but because when friends come to town whose time is highly sought after I get to have 2-3 hours of uninterrupted quality time with them. @amandajoyhollinger having you nearby and having my hands in your hair fills my heart.
