Friends, 2020 has devastated many people in so many ways and I am once again asking for your help. This year, we are parterning with Spark of Love to collect un...used toys, gift cards, and sports equipment for less fortunate kids and families in Southern California. There are several ways to give. You can drop off your donation at the dojo in person if you wish and we will personally deliver your gifts to the toy donation center located near Dodger Stadium. You can also make a donation directly to Spark of Love or purchase a specific toy though their myregistry and Amazon store. Here is the link: https://abc7.com//click-here-to-donate-to-spark-o/5684558/ Here is the dojo address: 1824 W. 182nd St Torrance CA 90504 We are accepting in-person donations here at the dojo through: Mon-Thurs 4pm-830pm Sat 9am-1pm The last day I'll be acccepting in-person donations is Sat, Dec 19th, 2020 but you can make an on-line donation through Dec 24th. Shot near midnight yesterday, here is a pre-recorded more intense class for my Monday Wed participants! I have lost 23 lbs since I started teaching this online cardio kickboxing class 4 nights a week at 7:30pm. Some of the parents have been taking the class as well as long-time friends of mine. We punch, we kick, we knee, we elbow, we sweat, we have fun! Try it out and let me know if you want to join me live but remember to pace yourself while you push yourself! https://youtu.be/8SBJTa0dR4M
It looks like one of my students is going to go the distance and reach Level 1 by Dec of this year. He’s logged in over 9 years. He's trained hard. He’s been patient. He’s never given up. Just a little bit longer to reach the beginning. There is another. We are working together to hopefully reach Level 1 by Summer of 2021. Keep going. Do your best. It won't be easy but I promise you it will be worth it. How badly do you want it? #kaizendojo #beginnersmind #blackbeltisthebeginning #gambatte #senseiford #howbaddoyouwantit #alwaysearnednevergiven

Diversity of Style In this 2nd installment of the look back at Season 2 of 52 Masters, series director, Jim Towns and I chat about some of the different karat...e styles and their respective Sensei whom I got to train with this last time around including Tom Callahan, Vinicio Antony, Soke Tak Kubota, Marques McCammon, and Shihan Fumio Demura. (Sensei Ed Smith makes a cameo but I don’t specifically discuss his episode in this installment. Absolutely no disrespect intended, Sensei Smith). Enjoy! See more

It’s been a very rough ride since April for most of us. I have been hesitant about teaching new students because it has been so touch and go. Sadly, many gyms, academies, and businesses have been forced to shut down but thanks to our dojo families and supporters, we have managed to squeak by. The dojo is still here which I am so very grateful for, but the truth is, I am just not sure where we will land at the end of the day and this scares me. So now that I’ve said that out... loud...the plan is to keep moving forward in powerful and positive directions, despite my fears. With the help of film director Jim Towns (who also edited this piece) and cinematographer Rob Crawford, we’ve put together this promo. If you dig it, please like, comment, and share. Again, thank you to all who have supported us in the past and to those who continue to support us today. Unquestionably, without you all, I would not be a Sensei. It is my privilege and honor to continue to serve you. Thank you. William Christopher Ford- Instructor See more
