High Holiday Celebration Storytelling has sustained the Jewish people since our earliest days. Our libraries are full of so many heartwarming, riveting, enlightening stories that bring into the light all the beautiful - but also the unappealing - aspects of human existence. In our families, stories are shared that memorialize members, reinforce values, and celebrate relationships. The Power of Our Stories is the theme for this year’s High Holidays. Over the course of ten d...ays from Rosh Hashanah to Yom Kippur we will use the narratives for introspection and commitment. The anecdotes will be personal, memorial, cultural, and national an exploration of ideas that can guide us positively forward in the year ahead. RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED. Please visit our website for more information www.kahalam.org. Sunday, Sept.9: Erev Rosh Hashanah 7:00 p.m. Monday, Sept.10: Tashlikh 10:30 a.m. at Ventura Cove Wednesday, Sept.19: Yom Kippur/Kol Nidre/Break Fast 5:30 p.m.

KAHAL AM will be supporting this event. It's important to be united as the San Diego Jewish Community in light of the vulnerable position Jews and other groups are in today. Here's the information from the Anti-Defamation League about this event: As you know, there has been growing concern in our community about the rise of anti-Semitism and the impact this is having here in San Diego. We believe that now is the time to bring the community together to discuss these issues. ... The ADL will be holding a briefing this SUNDAY, MARCH 5th at 6:00 pm at the Lawrence Family JCC. This briefing is open to the entire community. ADL will be presenting on current trends in anti-Semitism and we will also be hearing from Chief Zimmerman, San Diego Police Department, Sheriff Gore, San Diego Sheriff’s Office and Special Agent in Charge Eric Birnbaum, Federal Bureau of Investigation. Thank you in advance for helping us to get the word out to the community. We look forward to working with all of you as we continue the work of fighting anti-Semitism and keeping our Jewish community safe.
