AB - 262 is a legislative bill that focuses on legal relief for victims of Human Trafficking. This bill will provide quicker vacatur to victims, helping them clear up an arrest background and potentially opening up better opportunities for housing and employment. This morning our very own Arien Garcia was invited by Assemblyman Jim Patterson to testify on behalf of this bill in the Assembly Appropriations Committee. #Repost @see.justice has an awesome info for being on line... check it out *PLEASE READ* this important hand signal is a way that people can indicate when they need help on Zoom or Microsoft Teams without leaving a trace or saying anything out loud. Most of you might never have to use this signal yourself, but learning to recognize it could help you identify someone else’s use of it, which could save their life. Share this to your stories so that more people can learn ...to recognize it! With years of experience with teens and parents, we have collected many tools that we wish others had access to sooner, words and phrases that we can teach our kids and ourselves now to keep them safe and to shift the culture. Please follow @see.justice and encourage your teens to do the same. We will be sharing some of these #wordstoliveby there this week. * What words or phrases have been helpful to you? What do you wish you had known sooner?

by Marissa Huante-Garcia Hello! My name is Marissa and I am the Coalition's Victim and Survivor Advocate. In addition to helping with youth referred to us by Friday Court, I have also, pre-COVID, facilitated the My Life My Choice youth program within the Juvenile Justice Campus. This is a program specifically created for teen girls who have been in the life or who are at particularly high risk for human trafficking. Fighting human trafficking can be an overwhelming idea, but it doesn't have to be! We would love to know what your first starting point was. Share in the comments. And if you are looking for a place to start, visit justiceco.org/connect for some ideas!

Mark your calendars and spread the word! We are so excited to celebrate 10 years!! Although this year is nothing like we would have imagined, we’d be honored if you’d save a few minutes of your morning to drive by and say hello. We’ll have some treats to share and photo ops so you can keep raising awareness about what we are passionate about doing- bringing freedom and hope to those most vulnerable.
Often we hear, "be a voice for the voiceless." While it generally comes from well meaning people, we believe EVERYBODY has a voice. Some are ignored. Others silenced, some amplified. Our goal is to empower voices that are often overlooked or misunderstood. In our country today, many of us have the freedom to vote. Use your voice!
