Today is Day 5 of the LBDI. We have been raising money to support the mission of The Junior League of San Diego. Today is the last day to donate, so please consider making a donation. Let’s help end poverty together! #JLSDLBDI #thelbdi #whyijlsd Make a donation: http://bit.ly/JLSDLBDI2021
Today is Day 3 of the LBDI. Did you know that nearly 40% of all children face economic hardship? In San Diego County, there are approximately 2,500 foster youth, with approximately 10% aging out of the foster care system each year. These young men and women have very few resources available to them, and face high rates of poverty, homelessness, and criminal activity, including human trafficking. Please donate to #JLSDLBDI. JLSD is making a difference, with direct programs and advocacy efforts to support transition-age foster youth and victims of human trafficking. #thelbdi + #whyijlsd Donate now at http://bit.ly/JLSDLBDI2021
Today is Day 2 of the Little Black Dress Initiative. 15.5% of children in San Diego live in poverty, and 60% of students are entitled to a free or reduced lunch. JLSD has been on the forefront of programs supporting vulnerable families and children in our community. In 1994, we helped found the Polinsky Children’s Center, a 24-hour facility for the temporary emergency shelter of children who must be separated from their families, or when parents cannot provide care. Many of these children live in poverty, and struggle in their transition to independent adulthood. We give our time and energy to the Junior League and its legacy of improving the San Diego community. Please support me by making a donation to #JLSDLBDI. #thelbdi + #whyijlsd Donate at http://bit.ly/JLSDLBDI2021
