Instead, focus on doing some of these main lifts that are guaranteed to give your results * Hinge Movements: hinge movements are lower body exercises that focus more on the back or posterior side of the body. These includes deadlifts, RDL’s, and Kettlebell Swings to name a few * Upper Pull: like the name says, this is an upperbody exercise that focuses more on the back. So this would include pull-ups, rows, and other exercises that focus on the back * Accessory: this simply refers to other staple exercises that don’t fall into the other categories. This includes upper body exercises that focus on the shoulders, biceps, or triceps. Any hip exercise could also be under this Accessory section * Squat: your squats are big-time bang for your buck exercises. Squats typically work more of the front side of your leg (quads) than do the hinge movements. Some examples of squats include goblet squats, front squats, and split squats to name a few * Upper Push: as the name suggests, this includes all upper body exercises in which you are literally pushing something. So this can include bench press, overhead press, and push-ups. Client Shoutout Wanted to give some love to my long-time client Nick First things first, we NEVER STOPPED training during quarantine I wanna give him props for that, as the desire to continue his fitness was that important to him. Even after getting kicked out of Balboa and some other sketchy moments with cops at closed down parks ... Nick dropped nearly 30 lbs since I started training with him last fall! Shame on me for not getting a before/after photo His primary goal when starting was to increase his vertical jump. And I’m proud to say that through corrected technique and power training, we were able to add 6 onto his vertical jump. Nick really dialed in his nutrition and diet this spring, dropped 20 lbs and got that six pack he was looking for. He’ll be taking a break for now, but I have a feeling we’ll be seeing each other again soon. Until next time bro #jsfit See more
