Is #EggFreezing right for me? . You can preserve your fertility by freezing and storing your eggs for fertilization at a later date. There are several reasons you may consider egg freezing. . Many people are choosing to have children later in life, however, this hasn’t changed the affects of aging on fertility. By the time women reach their late twenties, their fertility begins to diminish through their thirties. Many women by the time they reach their forties have lost the a...bility to conceive. Egg freezing prevents your eggs from aging which helps minimize the loss of fertility that happens as women age. For example, if you freeze your eggs at 28 years old, they’ll still function as eggs from a 28 year old even if they’re used 10 years later. . For a woman who has been diagnosed with cancer, egg freezing can help save their fertility which is destroyed by therapies such as chemo or radiation to treat the cancer. Prior to beginning chemo or radiation, a fertility specialist, such as myself, can retrieve eggs and freeze them. This way, the woman can have children later on via a surrogate at a later date if she wishes. . #fertility #science #infertility #ttc #ttcsupport #ttccommunity #ivf #surrogacy #pregnancy #fertilityawareness #cancerawareness #reproductivehealth See more

Getting my vaccine today on the winter solstice! Hope, rebirth, more sunlight and longer days are on the way. I’m also trying to channel my inner Dr. Fauci! What do you think of my tie?? I’m so thankful for the vaccine developers, the scientists, the logistics specialists, operation warp speed, and for progress. Of course, getting a large percentage of our population vaccinated to better ensure herd immunity will take time. Please continue to wear your masks,, practice phy...sical distancing, and wash your hands regularly . I feel better and also relieved that my risk of contracting the Covid19 virus will be much lower. I also feel somewhat guilty especially if our frontline workers have not yet received a dosage yet. But infertility and family building for all is time sensitive. I want to keep everyone safe and healthy especially as I am so very involved in all of our patients care and fertility procedures. I’m excited for the new year, but am also still very cautious and want to get this darn virus under better control. Talk to your doctor about pregnancy planning and the new vaccine. Remember that both the Moderna and the Pfizer vaccines are mRNA vaccines and do Not contain live virus. The ASRM and the American College of OBGYN state that the vaccine should Not be withheld from patients who are planning to conceive, who are currently pregnant, or who are breastfeeding. Those with severe allergic reactions to prior vaccines should use caution. My team and I at @HRCFertility continue to follow CDC guidelines as we provide reproductive care. We’ve become used to the ‘new normal’ in our offices, embryology labs, and surgery centers. Stay well, stay hopeful... Yesterday I got a wonderful holiday gift! A patient gave us some delicious California Medjool Dates, can you say deelish 10 times fast?? These dates are from the Coachella Valley and world famous. I personally love receiving dried fruit or holiday pears as winter-time gifts. Maybe it has to do with my family’s background or our proximity to California’s Central Valley, but the holidays don’t need to be only about giving plastic toys or other less useful items. . J...ust this morning I spoke with a woman struggling with constipation during pregnancy, what better initial treatment than some Medjool Dates? But other tools are also useful for constipation: increase water intake, increased walking/ambulation, increased fiber in your diet (eg., salad, kale, dried fruit, etc.. ), and then basic stool softeners such as docusate (Colace) or milk of magnesia. My grandmother swore by her prune juice.. even though I personally can’t stand the stuff! . If you have a sweet tooth, try to avoid simple and processed sugar. Focus more on fruit and vegetable options that will quell your Sugar Dragon! Believe it or not, dates are #Whole30 compliant and can be part of diet rich in antioxidants. Of course, don’t over do it! But remember that I tend to focus more on the types of foods that we eat as opposed to a strict focus on the amount. . Enjoy the holidays and stay well. Giving ‘old school’ gifts especially during a pandemic when we are all trying physically distance from each other while staying healthy sounds like a great 2020 idea. . . . . #CaliforniaMedjoolDates #INowLikeDatesAsAnAdult #IStillDontLikePruneJuice #FertilityDiet #AntiInflammatoryDiet #HolidayGifts #BackToTheBasics #OldSchool #HRCFertility #HRCRancho #TTC #TTCCommunity #TTCJourny #IVF #PCOS #Anovulation #PCOSDiet #KingOfDates #MenHavingBabies #TwoDads #TwoMoms #IVFWarrior #IVF #ICSI #PGT #SuperFood #HealthyLiving #GarrysCountryStore #ParentingAfterInfertility #DrJohnNorian See more
