And to my family for their infinite love and patience and always being there for me. I could not have done this without their support. I look forward to the road ahead and putting in the ...hard work to help jump start our economy safely, tackle our city’s long-term issues, and deliver neighborhood services. Now, it’s time to get to work!

With less than 30 hours until polls close, that translates into 30 hours that I can reach more voters. Who knows, I might call you! Is there anybody you think that I should call? I'll add them to the top of my list.

Election Day is right around the corner, so make sure to plan ahead! Unlike the primary, there are fewer polling locations in San Diego County. The map below shows the 13 polling locations in District 1. Also new, polls will be open 4 days: starting Saturday, October 31st through Monday, November 2nd from 8am to 5pm, and Tuesday, November 3rd, 7am to 8pm. This Labor Day, please join me thanking our city’s public safety workers. From our firefighters battling fires in East County to our lifeguards and police protecting crowded beaches and bays along the coast, this is shaping up to be one of the most challenging Labor Day weekends for San Diego’s finest. Today, please be sure to offer your thanks as you do your part to be safe and stay well.

I am honored to receive the endorsement of the League of Conservation Voters. Leaving behind a better earth than we inherited, with cleaner air to breathe and open spaces to enjoy, is not a new goal nor should it be a partisan one. As a councilmember, I will drive fact-based conversations and meaningful action to meet the needs of today and for future generations.

Congratulations to Sam Nejabat for being appointed senior business development specialist for the Governor's Office of Business and Economic Development! Sam has successfully run SJN properties since 2013 and has always been an advocate for local businesses, so it is admirable that he wants to help on a larger scale. I'm looking forward to working with Sam on getting people back to work, while continuing to protect public health.

Here is a perfect example of when you give people an inch, they take a mile. This is another reason we need to reign in all illegal, whole-home short-term vacation rentals. Unlike my opponent, who is supported by the local lobbying arm of STVRs, I have always maintained the opinion that the existing zoning code should be enforced.
