Not everyone checks the viscosity of their coatings, but it can be a very important part of your refinish process!

Mazda has a new color out this year that currently requires a more involved paint process. The color is called Machine Gray and is paint code 46G. Normally these more exotic leafing aluminum colors have been reserved for $100k+ cars, but this one is on a much more common Mazda CX-9. So if your shop comes across a repair on one of these, let us know so we can get you the proper repair information!

Temperatures - they are a changin' It’s that time of year when temperatures begin to decline, and Fall is in the air. Hopefully you’re also beginning to consider changing your reducer and hardener choices to reflect your cooler environment. As temperatures decrease, using slower, high temp hardeners and reducers may have negative impacts on your paint films. Problems such as extended flash and dry times, sags and runs, and even poor metallic orientation may all be caused by using too slow of a reducer or hardener for your cooler environment. So as temperatures begin to fall, be aware of your choices. Use the proper reducers and hardeners for your environment to insure a productive and successful paint job!

PPG Industries' data says that for 2014 the most popular OEM color is White once again! Natural colors are on the rise and silver is less popular than in 2013.
