We are pleased to share with you that Congress has passed a short-term, $4.52 million extension of the Special Diabetes Program (SDP) as part of a bill that funds the Federal government through December 11, 2020. We expect the President to sign the bill into law shortly. Thanks to on-going engagement by supporters like you, this short-term extension allows the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to continue to drive forward critical programs such as TrialNet and TEDDY, as wel...l as advance other critical T1D research areas. The SDP is an important complement to JDRF-funded research and improves lives while moving us closer to cures for T1D.
