JCL Jewish Coalition for Literacy is proud to co-present "Oliver Sacks: In His Own Life" at the Jewish Film Institute's 2020 WinterFest, February 29 March 1. About the Film: On January 15th, 2015, a few weeks after completing his memoir, the writer and neurologist Oliver Sacks learned that the rare form of cancer for which he had been treated seven years earlier had returned, and that he had only a few months to live. One month later, he sat down with the producers for a series of marathon filmed interviews in his apartment in New York.

San Francisco JCL Jewish Coalition for Literacy Volunteer Tutors meet-up at a Books & Babka event, hosted at Wise Sons Jewish Delicatessen (24th street location in the Mission) Tutors brainstormed organizations to focus JCL outreach on, shared some heart-warming stories regarding their interactions with students throughout the schoolyear, and offered strategies for engaging students during the upcoming schoolyear.
