Jay Haizlip

This church is in Alabama and it’s the first church I visited once I gave my life to Jesus. This place became home for me and my family in our early days. It’s closed now. There’s a hole in the building and its slowly falling in. I would mow the grass on Saturday's - Christy and I would clean the building. Everything from the rest rooms to vacuuming the carpet. We wanted it to be just right for everyone who would be coming on Sunday. I remember having some of the most incredi...ble experiences with God in this place. I would go out of my way to bring people to this church building. Many of them suffering and struggling with sin and all they needed was someone willing to help them. I would bring them and God would deliver, save and fill them. Sometimes we need to revisit our beginnings to remind and refresh us, as to why we do what we do. I am beyond blessed to presently be a part of something so wonderful that God is using to change the lives of so many. The devil will try to play tricks on your mind especially during times like these and make you wonder if what you are doing really matters, someone recently asked me a similar question at one of our gatherings. I said "just ask any of these people who have had their lives radically changed if it’s worth it. Every prayer, every act of obedience, every sacrifice, every praise, the showing up early and leaving late. Yes, it’s more than worth it. It’s a privilege to be used by God. I am forever grateful for my Sanctuary church family. They have the heart of a warrior. See more
