What a day! Alongside Bakersfield American Indian Health, we distributed hundreds of Narcan kits today at our drive thru event! We could not have been happier with the turn out. We sincerely thank each and every Kern County resident that showed up to arm themself with this safe and effective antidote to opioid overdose. This product is easy to use and saves lives. Each member of the BRS Family that worked this event volunteered to be there. This even was one of those moments in which we couldn’t be prouder to be a part of this community.

If you’re interested in FREE Narcan, come drive thru and say hi this Saturday! Ourselves and Bakersfield American Indian Health will also be handing out bags of hygiene products and other necessities. We feel that every household would benefit from having some sort of Narcan/naloxone product on hand. Even if you don’t think you know someone that struggles with addiction, your neighbor or coworker might - and odds are, you probably don’t even know it. Addiction doesn’t discr...iminate between socioeconomic classes and it’s not always apparent. Sometimes it’s as easy as someone having one too many drinks with their opioid pain management prescription. This is an opportunity to obtain free Narcan and a quick training on how to save someone’s life. Take it from us: it’s better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it. Did I mention there will be free tri tip sandwiches? Check out the flyer for more details!

Failure does not identify who you are as a person, it only gives you experience and wisdom. Pick yourself back up, reset your mindset, and then keep going!

Recovery by definition means to return to a normal state of health, mind, or strength. But aside from that, this word holds much more meaning than that to so many people. Today we ask the question, what does the word recovery mean to you?
