Many of you know me by Dr. Houck, but when I’m home, I’m Mommy- and now I’m a mom to TWO... We welcomed baby Carter James into the world a few weeks ago! I’m enjoying time with this sweet boy at home now but will be back in the office in a few weeks. If you need anything before I’m back, Dr. Mellert will take great care of you!

Don got the smile he always dreamed of at 87 years young after 7 months in Invisalign treatment with Dr. Houck. He loves how much his wife compliments his new smile! Based on his dental history, he thought he was not a candidate for orthodontics, but always wanted to fix the crowding of his front teeth. Due to previous resorptive lesions that were endodontically treated decades ago, certain lower teeth were not moved. It is a misconception that Invisalign is only for teens or young adults. This is my good friend and I with Dr. Unterman, my favorite USC dental school instructor. He was the first to teach me to hold a handpiece and was an incredible influence in my clinical skills. He passed away yesterday. I am so grateful for his encouragement personally and professionally throughout dental school and into my professional career. I am a much better doctor because of him! As my friend @dr.alex.dds joked- He could spot an undercut from a mile away! Dr. Unterman will be so missed. The world is full of compassionate and skilled USC dentists who were influenced by this great man.
