Along with Chris Akrimi from JOOR, Scott Lux from Theory, Jordan Knapp from Shopify, Michelle Bacharach from FindMine, Mostafa ElBermawt from NoGood, and Avani Patel from The Ember Company, they discussed new ways of working and how the world's leading businesses are rising to the challenge of COVID-19. Our CEO wrote this piece in Read Write to explore ideas impacting online retail and customer experience thanks to machine learning. It features a lovely summary of the thoughtful approach that @markbaartse is taking at Showpo. Their launching tests this week. Exciting. The article also touches on other verticals:... 'Millennials are excited to work with robots, complain to robots, and date robots, so it comes as no surprise that they want robots to help them pick out an outfit, an automobile, or a weekend getaway.' Yes A LOT of people say they would date robots. NO I don't know any eligible robots. https://readwrite.com//use-ai-to-deliver-a-seamless-consu/ #machinelearning #ai #retail #cx #robotlove

IV.AI's CEO Vince Lynch wrote this piece for TechCrunch with the help of IV.AI Head of Machine Learning Ben Yaear to help teams avoid #bias when training #machinelearning models. 'At this moment in history it’s impossible not to see the problems that arise from human bias. Now magnify that by compute and you start to get a sense for just how dangerous human bias via machine learning can be. The damage can be twofold: Influence. If the AI said so it must be true people trust... outputs of AI, so if human bias is missed in the training it could compound the problem by infecting more people; Automation. Sometimes AI models are plugged into a programmatic function, which could lead to the automation of bias.' See more

Today at #AWNY we attempted to dig into a very tricky concept of identity in relation to #machinelearning. To be completely honest I was concerned that we could find a way to thread the conversation back to the overarching topic but in the end it was a breeze thanks to the brilliant Stephanie Anderson Evan Simeone Matthew Groner Rob Wilk.
