Have you or a loved one been diagnosed with cancer? Our Health Education Department is hosting a free, monthly Online Cancer Education Series. The 12-month integrative program is designed to educate patients, families and caregivers on ways to optimize wellness and how to address challenges that arise throughout the continuum of cancer care. The first class, Living with Cancer will be led by oncologist Walter Tsang, MD on January 27th from 2-3 PM. He will provide information and guidance surrounding the disease and adjustments to routines, roles and relationships. January is National Cervical Health Awareness Month. Cervical cancer screenings can help detect abnormal cells early, before they turn into cancer. Most deaths from cervical cancer could be prevented by regular Pap tests and follow-up care. Recommendations Begin regular Pap tests starting at age 21. Pre-teens get the HPV vaccine at age 11 or 12.... Women up to age 26 and men up to age 21 can still get the vaccine if they have not received it in the past.
