https://isabeljewelry.com/product/daisy-ring/ I am so excited to finally share the first flower of my new jewelry collection, the Blooms Collection. The classic daisy is the first bloom to be featured because it is the quintessential flower shape. Tiny white and yellow daisies are among the first spring blooms, we love big white daisies in our bouquets, and then all summer we see colorful varieties. I carved this sculptural flower in wax and cast it in silver. It has a slightly domed shape with long petals radiating from the textured center. I antiqued the daisy to pronounce the sculptural shapes. PRE-ORDER NOW TO RECEIVE A DISCOUNT! They will be available at the beginning of June for shipping. Until May 31, I am offering a 15% discount for pre-orders. https://isabeljewelry.com//isabeljewel/product/daisy-ring/

I did some silver casting last week! I got to join a friend in her studio and cast four rings that I had carved in wax. This first photo is those rings after casting and before cleanup (yes, that is silver). The second photo is the wax models with wax sprues that I attached. A sprue builds a tunnel for the molten metal to flow through and you have to think about how to angle and place the models for the best metal flow. After spruing you place them inside a metal flask and pour a special plaster in there that you cook in a kiln overnight. All of the wax burns out and creates an empty space, then you melt silver and pour it in. (Quick internet explanation ). Casting is so fun and always comes with the anticipation of finding out whether you did each step correctly, it’s easy to mess it up and lose your hours of wax carving work.

I recently collaborated with a Portland artist, Cynthia Star, to make this custom power ring. She had the center sunstone and some ideas so we worked together to make the final design in gold and silver and added a little topaz. I like the effect of mixing textures, layers, and colors; I fabricated this ring using gold and silver sheet and also used an etching process for the indented area. www.isabeljewelry.com

Springtime flower inspirations becoming jewelry! I am carving tiny wax sculptural rings that I will cast in silver next week. Here’s a peek into the process because I can’t help but want to share a touch of art and beauty.

This is the same kind of jade found in Wyoming and all along the west coast of America! While I can carve some pretty cabochons I think I'd need a few decades of new training to carve an object like this. There are two varieties of jade found in the world, nephrite and jadeite, they have some different mineral compositions but are both referred to as jade and they both come in a variety of colors with green being most common.

It’s up! I just finished installing new artwork into the windows of the Larry Spring Museum in Fort Bragg, Ca. More pics and details to come but the overall ins...piration is the beauty of refraction. I’ve mixed colorful shapes to represent the scattered colors of the rainbow, cut crystals to actually refract the sunshine, and the magical local abalone shells that refract the light in their layered structure. Also to come is a small display that explains refraction. Many thanks to the museum and Megan and Anne Maureen! @larryspringmuseum @lostcoastfoundfortbraggca #installationart #sculptureart #contemporaryart #americanartist #northerncalifornia #mendo #refraction #rainbowbeauty See more

I just added three new jade necklaces to my website! Go check them out https://isabeljewelry.com/product-category//handcut-stones/ Each one is made using beautiful Wyoming sourced nephrite jade and the colors are variations of green, some with snowflake patterning. And I made simple prong settings for them to really feature the beauty of the stone. These are cabochons, meaning they have a flat back and a round top.
