Worship is LIVE now. Join us online https://zoom.us/j/9970411553 or https://irvingtonpres.org/sermons/ or YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/user/irvingtonpres After more than 13 months of lockdown, alternate living and zoom worship, we are beginning to experience changes. With more people getting vaccinated and the number fo COVID -19 cases continuing to drop, there are more opportunities for us to engage in activities if it is safe to do so. Things are also changing for our ...IPC Church family. Many of you were able to safely join us for a soft reopening on Palm Sunday at our first indoor worship service since March 2020. Then on Easter Sunday, many more were able to join us for in person worship. Many of you have mentioned that it was nice worshiping with your church family again and look forward to coming together in person as a community of faith for those who are comfortable doing so. Yes, it was a special Easter. We loved seeing your faces and hearing you sing praises to God through your masks. And thank you for observing all the guidelines. Going forward, we will offer in person worship as well options for zoom and YouTube. Registration is required each week and we ask that you sign up by Friday evening so that we can make the necessary arrangements for you to safely worship in the sanctuary. At this time we can safely accommodate 50 worshippers so the first 50 to sign up will be allowed in for the service. Please note that if you arrive after service has started, you may not be able to enter the sanctuary even though you have registered. Due to COVID health and safety guidelines, childcare and fellowship in the social hall will not be offered at this time. This decision will be revisited when the guidelines change. Additional registration details are provided on the registration form. This week's scripture is from John 20:19-31. Pastor Ed writes:" We all live inside the bubble of our world. The resurrection of Jesus Christ declares that there is more to life than our own bubble. Learn on Sunday how the Living Christ can become the Game Changer of your life." You may join in on line from wherever you are: https://zoom.us/j/9970411553 or https://irvingtonpres.org/sermons/ or YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/user/irvingtonpres The Sunday Bulletin is attached. This week, our prayer for you is the same hope that Paul shared in his letter to the Ephesians: "May you be able to feel and really understand how long, how wide, how deep and how high God's love really is." We pray that you experience His love for you, your family and friends. We love you and pray for you everyday. Grace and Peace, Worship Ministry

Easter is the event that split history and changed the world. As we celebrate the Easter season, we think of Jesus' sacrifice. The death of Jesus was the darkest day in history, then three days later, He rose from the dead. Jesus, risen from the dead, is the beginning and the sign of this new world and new life. During this Easter season, Jesus wants to give us new life too. This past year we experienced many dark days, but Jesus doesn't leave us there. He is the light a...nd we look forward to celebrating this new season together. On this Palm Sunday we return to in person worship in the sanctuary. If you have registered, you received a confirmation. We ask that you be seated in the sanctuary before 10:00 am. If you feel you are not ready to gather in person, please continue joining us online. Your safety remains our top priority. This indoor service is available for those ready to gather and willing to commit to the safety guidelines. In this week's scripture Mark 11:1-11, Pastor Ed shares that to welcome Jesus is to welcome Him into your life! Are there parts of your life that are off limits to Jesus? How might you honestly and consistently welcome him into your life? What is your Epiphany Star Word? an Epiphany star word is a free gift for you to contemplate on this year on what would God want you to do. don't pick your word. PM or post below with a number between 1 and 150 and we will see what God picks for you The wise men who traveled great distances to offer their gifts to the newborn Christ-child were responding to the gift first given to them. They received God’s gift, then offered their gifts to God. ... As we commemorate the arrival of the wise men and remember their offerings on Epiphany Sunday, we delight in this star word reminder that symbolizes God’s generosity in our lives. At Epiphany, we are not asked to give; we are invited to receive. It reminds us that this is always the order of things in God’s realmGod always gives first, and then we are invited to respond with our gifts and ourselves. This Epiphany Sunday represents a change in our routine of the busyness, we are offered the opportunity to be still in the presence of God and to receive God’s Print out your star word and make it a reminder everyday to be deliberate in how we act and talk and post as a follower of Christ Jesus

Just as we were beginning to address the challenges in the new year, the violence and attack on our nation's capital, again remind us that our faith is in God alone - not in a person, a politician, a political party or in perceived power. Our hope is in Jesus! During these difficult times, we pray that you would lean on God's promise in Isaiah 41:10: "Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold... you with My righteous hand". If you are saddened or feeling angry, dejected or frustrated by the events of this past Wednesday, January 6, understand you are not alone. Worship Ministry wants to continue to walk alongside you and will be contacting you in the days to come to see how we can help. Other than the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, very few teachings are present in all four Gospels. The baptism of Jesus by John the Baptist stands apart as one of the few passages shared among all the Gospels (Matthew 3:13-17, Mark 1:9-11, Luke 3:21-22, John 1:29-34), highlighting its major significance. In this week's scripture, Christ models for us the importance of baptism. Let us revisit our own baptism in the light of Mark 1:4-11. Ponder and ask these questions: Who am I as a baptized child of God? What does my baptismal identity mean to me? Join in worship on zoom: https://zoom.us/j/9970411553 or church website: https://irvingtonpres.org/sermons/ or YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/user/irvingtonpres . The Sunday Bulletin is attached. IPC's Annual CONGREGATIONAL Meeting will be held via Zoom on January 24, following the worship service. The link to join the meeting will be in next week's eNews. It will also be posted on the church website. We pray you know how much you mean to us. Grace and Peace, Your Worship Ministry

This past year was one that we never before experienced. We experienced a global pandemic; a historic presidential election; protests for racial justice and equality; wildfires and hurricanes. Yes, these all unfolded before us in 2020. Sadly, it was also a year of loss. We all lost family and friends, heroes and legends. We grieved not worshiping in the sanctuary. In spite of all these occurrences, we grew in faith. We found new ways to look at age-old problems, long... unexamined. New ways of thinking about the future. And most of all, new ways to connect with each other. As we prepare to enter a new calendar year, we give thanks for the ways we have been able to join and support you in ministry over the course of a very unusual 2020. Our sincere hope and prayer is that in the midst of this past year we all experienced a sense that God was with us, loving us through it all. And whatever the new year holds, we have faith that God holds it all. In this week's scripture John 1:1-18, "The Word was God". Jesus is the embodiment of God's Scriptural revelation. "The Word," was the most accurate term with which to describe Jesus. How can God be reduced to just the WORD? Find out by joining in for worship, as you do each week on zoom: https://zoom.us/j/9970411553 , or church website: https://irvingtonpres.org/sermons/ or YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/user/irvingtonpres The Sunday Bulletin is attached. When so many things are uncertain, the situation may seem out of control and you feel that you are unable to count on anything, count on this. God is in control. God loves us unconditionally. The more we understand this, the greater capacity we will develop to love others. In this week's scripture reading Matthew 22:34-46, we learn that Jesus is the Christ. He is the one God's people had been waiting for. Join in worship and learn what Jesus says about God’s greatest co...mmandment for humanity. Even though we are not gathering together, there are lots of activities going on in life and church. Our ministries continue to meet over zoom and plan church-wide activities; we meet every Sunday for worship; Pastor Ed hosts a weekly Bible Class; there is a Thursday evening Prayer Time with God and we have a drive thru pantry on Saturday mornings - what blessings. This Sunday at 11:00 am, we join with our Presbytery for the first ever Presbytery-wide worship service. The c...o-moderators of the Presbytery of San Francisco, along with twenty participating congregations, have put together a service of worship celebrating the vibrant communities of our Presbytery. Sunday is also World Communion Sunday and we will virtually gather around the communion table in solidarity with Christians around the world as we participate in World Communion Sunday. (Please have your bread/crackers and juice/wine ready). Though our world does not often enough reflect it, communion is a time where we visibly and visually remind ourselves that human beings living in unity is a part of God's nature and God's desire. You may access Sunday worship service beginning at 11:00 am at:https://zoom.us/j/91323378313 (Please enter password October4) or the Church website: https://irvingtonpres.org/sermons/. The Sunday Bulletin is attached. The service is subtitled in English, Spanish, Korean, Chinese, and Bahasa Indonesian. Additionally, English subtitles are embedded in the video for all non-English portions, making it possible to watch with two languages simultaneously as long as one of the languages is English. We look forward to worshiping with you on Sunday. Grace and Peace, Your Worship Ministry

Today, we are faced with so many issues and challenges that we want to encourage you and remind you that we are here for you. God’s word keeps us going every day during this time away from you. Psalm 37:23-24: "The LORD makes firm the steps of the one who delights in him; though he may stumble, he will not fall, for the LORD upholds him with his hand. If you are experiencing celebration or disappointment, health or unrest, impatience or irritation; we want to walk alongsi...de you. Your health, wellness, and life happenings are important to us. Let us know by responding to this email or joining in during fellowship time on Sunday so we may pray for you. When it looks like God’s blessing somebody in a way that he’s not blessing you, relax and trust God. Believe that He knows what’s best for you, and trust Him when life seems unfair. Jesus teaches us in the parable of the vineyard workers in Matthew 20:1-16, how generous our God is. His extravagant, unconditional, unending love is the same for everyone. We pray that you are planning on joining us this Sunday and will consider inviting others to do so as well. You may access the service Sunday at 10:00am by clicking on either the church website: https://irvingtonpres.org/sermons/ or zoom: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/9970411553 The Sunday Bulletin is attached.
