Marley's Mutts Dog Rescue 14.11.2020

After a 7 month hiatus due to Covid our Miracle Mutts therapy dog team participated in their 1st event. This was a private event with social distancing practices in place but we were so thankful to start sharing in our community again. It was a wonderful way to kick off the holiday season and we hope to slowly get back into the swing of things as restrictions are lifted and the community reopens. We missed the connections we regularly made and spreading the joy of the human canine bond

Hippo is well on his way to becoming a ranch favorite. This guy is all LOVE! We’re still waiting on an update for his medical but for now we have his diet and exercise plan well underway with maybe a few breaks along the way . Vibrant K9 has generously donated his food which is aiding in both his cancer battle and weight loss journey. We couldn’t be more grateful for this amazing gift

Although she looks like a big dog this little girl is a big dog in a small package. Meet Mocha! Mocha found herself at Kern County Animal Services after she’d been picked up as a stray. We couldn’t resist her soulful eyes so she joined the Marleys Mutts crew. Mocha is a fun and active dog and would do best with an active family who has another fun dog in the home. She wants to run and play with her canine friends and does the best zoomies. She’s a tiny 27lbs which is perfect...ly fun sized. So far she seems house trained in her foster home and is perfect in the crate. If you’re looking for a cool dog in a compact package Mocha just might be your girl!

It’s just about sweater weather! And cold weather means more puppy snuggles! Are you ready for the cold or missing summer already?

Dodger lost his family when they could no longer care for him as they were moving. He’s the cutest long haired Doxie mix and on the shy side. He does bond with his people quickly and is very sweet once he knows you. Loud noises make him jumpy so we think a quiet and calm home would make him the happiest. He’d do better with older respectful children as the noise and activity level of younger children would overwhelm him. He’s good with other dogs and would love a confident buddy to help him adjust in a new home. Think Dodger would be the perfect fit for your family? Apply today! https://www.marleysmutts.org/dodger/

We had a pretty amazing day with trapping help from the lovely ladies at Saving Strays https://www.facebook.com/savingstrayk9/ . A family of German Shepherds were dumped right off the 58 freeway here in Bakersfield. We managed to get 6 puppies and the momma dog and are hopeful to get daddy in the next couple of days. Teamwork is what makes rescue so amazing!

If you like the fluffies Harvey is the perfect boy for you! He’s happy and playful and oh so fun. He was picked up by Kern County Animal Services as a stray and his family never came for him. He was pretty matted when he arrived at the shelter so they shaved him down. When his fur grows back he’ll have glorious long locks. Harveys got a good amount of energy and spunk. We’re working on his crate training skills (he’s not a fan of that lol). As we get to know more about Harvey we’ll have a better feel about his interactions with other dogs and a better idea of what his perfect home looks like

Karen might be calling the manager on her canine friends but she LOVES people of all shapes and sizes . We’d recommend homes with older respectful children due to her small size (5lbs). Some of the dog actives Karen has reported..... Unsolicited sniffing Loud and obnoxious playing... They looked at her so must be sketchy Walking without a leash and getting closer than 6 feet They’re a dog and in her vicinity Karen demands to be your one and only. She will only accept canine companions if they are able to abide by her rules and stay completely out of her personal space. Any violations will be promptly reported to the manager on duty

Animals never cease to amaze us and they rarely let physical disabilities hold them back. Stevie Marbles doesn’t let her lack of sight slow her down even a little. This tiny girl is amazing!!! She’s also still looking for an equally amazing home! She’s kitty and dog friendly and looking for that special family who doesn’t mind that she comes with an imperfection. We all know those imperfections are what make her perfectly imperfect
