It’s more than diet and exercise when it comes to heart health. Stress and other factors including your genes can play an important role. Know the signs and your risk when it comes to understanding your risk for heart disease. #heartmonth #wearredday

Jasmine Sweet knew heart disease at an early age and shared with us why #heartmonth is her reminder to live healthier. It’s American Heart Month, and I’ve partnered with @invitae to share my story and take a stance for heart health. Heart disease made its debut in my life at the young age of 12. At that time, my father had a heart attack when he was 47 years old. Young, I know. He'd go on to have a few more heart-related episodes between then and 63-years-old when he pass...ed. He held my heart, and I am forever committed to understanding my health conditions, and how I can live a healthier lifestyle to be here for everyone whose heart I’m holding. This disease continues to plague women and people in the African American community. Moreover, while your lifestyle plays a huge role in your health, your genes do too. Let us know #WhoHoldsYourHeart this month. Read more about Jasmine's story here: https://invit.ae/2MSy6be
