During my senior year of high school, I decided to create a short animated film all by myself. I had an idea and the motivation to start, but it was a struggle to finish because my motivation came and went. Some days I couldn’t stop working on my project and other times I went days without even touching it. I knew I had to finish what I started, so I created a timeline for myself. I quickly got off track and ended up being months behind on my work. However, I persevered and ...never gave up on my animation! Although it took me about a year and a half to finish, by the end I was so proud of what I created. I learned so much from working on my solo animation. I learned about the program I was working with, how to draw concept art, backgrounds, character designs, and the process to creating an animation. But most importantly, I learned to never give up! That was the most fulfilling thing that I got out of my animation. - Lea

When we think about talent, we think about this supernatural ability that’s only gifted to a selected few. The truth of the matter is, talent really just boils down to your ability to show up. To pursue your interests and passions head-on every single day. We encourage everyone to redefine the idea of talent from the old, outdated, traditional sense of the word, to this new, more practical and beneficial definition. When we make this shift, our interests and passions no longe...r feel out of reach. With this new definition in mind, I urge everyone to pursue their dreams and go full-force. We’re all immensely talented, and once we start realizing it, is when everything begins to fall into place. I leave you with a quote from Bob Ross: "I started painting as a hobby when I was little. I didn’t know I had any talent. I believe talent is just a pursued interest. Anybody can do what I do." Bob Ross
