We’ve told you all about our Technical Theatre Major, but there’s nothing like seeing it in action! Did you know that Inspire students played a key role in making the iconic A Very Chico Nutcracker performance come to life last year? They were involved in lighting for the show, doing hair and makeup, quick changes, deck crew, and fly rail. This Sunday, you can catch this annual production on film at the Meriam Park Drive-In, and enjoy a tri-tip dinner while you’re at it! Purchase tickets for the movie and dinner here: https://www.meriampark.com/events-calendar/chiconutcracker

"This generation of students is much more politically engaged and active than mine was, and they give me hope for positive change to come. Across the aisles, we adults are feeling anxious about Tuesday's election. But in these uncertain times, this quote from Terry Tempest Williams give me comfort: 'The human heart is the first home of democracy.... Can we listen with our whole beings, not just our minds, and offer our attention rather than our opinions? And do we have enough... resolve in our hearts to act courageously, relentlessly, without giving up--ever-trusting our fellow citizens to join with us in our determined pursuit of a living democracy?' We have to keep believing, together, that the answer can be 'yes.' So, on Tuesday, November 3, don't forget to VOTE!" Technical Theatre includes all aspects of theatre that make productions come to life -- including set and costume design, makeup and hair, lighting, property design, scenery construction, sound design, and more! Students who choose this major will have the opportunity for both fundamental exploration in all of these areas (and more) and advanced, in-depth coursework with m...entoring from professional designers and technicians. Our Technical Theatre students also get hands-on experiences year-round, playing leading roles as designers and technicians for Inspire productions. Enrollment at Inspire School of Arts & Sciences is open. Inspire students continually amaze us, and our goal has always been to support young people in expanding their dreams and pushing the boundaries of what they believe is possible. Today, we’re sharing the gorgeous animation work of Inspire alum, Isabella McMurry. Our students in visual arts get hands-on experience in their chosen craft, and graduate Inspire with a portfolio of work that can then be used as they pursue careers in the arts or sciences. This is learning, inspired. #WeGotThis

At Inspire, we work with some of the best arts and sciences educators in the North State, who not only teach with passion and determination, but are also experts in their field and their craft. Congratulations to Ms. Smith, who has been displaying her art at the Museum of Northern California Art (monca) for the Those Who Teach...Can! exhibition. Those Who Teach...Can! features work from art teachers throughout the North State, and we are proud to see Ms. Smith’s pottery pieces as a part of the exhibition. Check them out below, consider a visit to monca to see the work of our North State educators, and join us in celebrating Ms. Smith and all of the other teachers and artists who are sharing their craft with us! #WeGotThis
