{A REQUEST FROM KIKI} Will you sign this anti-racism petition to Forrest Yoga? For the last 5 years, I've committed myself to a personal journey to unpack my unconscious racial bias & understand my white supremacist thinking (ever since an Innerstellar student called me out on it, an experience for which I am extremely grateful). ... I've been reading books & educating myself. I've co-created with my team a successful Scholarship for POC for our yoga teacher trainings. I've been showing up to my quarterly coaching sessions with my anti-racism mentors at Allthriveed.org. I've been taking part in & sponsoring anti-racism continuing education trainings for my employees for the last two years, & will continue to do so. These are just some of the things we're doing at Innerstellar. But it's not enough; it never will be. This is an urgent problem that needs ALL HANDS ON DECK. The violence & harm that we white folks are continuing to impose on BIPOC, consciously or not, must come to an end. That's not something that's happening "out there". It's happening right here in our Pilates industry, in the yoga industry, at Innerstellar, & in Forrest Yoga in particular. I would like to see that change, & I'm committed to doing the often painful & uncomfortable work to help. So today I want to share with you a petition that several Forrest Yoga teachers created a short while after the death of George Floyd. It is actually addressed to me & my other Guardian brothers & sisters as well as the founder of Forrest Yoga, my teacher Ana Forrest, & her husband Jose Calarco.
