Climbing onto an unstable swing is a great learning experience. A child can learn step-by-step how to maneuver his/her arms, trunk, and legs to pull up into the swing. Jumping into a foam pit is a fun challenge that requires strength, balance, coordination and motor planning. Imposed and or unexpected movement makes this fella scared, so in his occupational therapy session we are incorporating a fine motor task for him to focus on instead of the fact that he is on a swing. Integrating such an activity allows him to use higher level brain functioning to calm, organize, and attend while filtering out the movement which is challenging for this child!

When we opened our doors Summer 2018, our priority was providing evidenced based practices while being family centered and clean.
