At approximately 12:45 P.M. Officer Perez conducted an enforcement stop on a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed, westbound on Interstate 10, west of Dillon Road. Officer Perez noticed an unrestrained young child in the backseat of the vehicle. When asked, the family shared they did not have a child safety seat for her. Officer Perez informed the family of the CHP’s participation in the Child Passenger Safety Program. The program educates and certifies officers with ski...lls to keep your young ones safe! On Monday, August 10, 2020 CHP K9 Officer Gette was patrolling the unincorporated area of Indio when he noticed an unattended high-end golf cart. He searched the surrounding area and was unable to locate a possible driver. Although the golf cart was unregistered, K9 Officer Gette was able to locate documentation that led him to the owner’s address. He, along with @riversidecountysheriff deputies, responded to the address and determined the house had been broken into. CHP K9 B...olt was deployed into the residence to locate any possible suspects. Two suspects were located just north of the residence. The suspects not only stole multiple items of property but also caused a great amount of damage to the residence and the owner’s belongings. Both suspects were taken into custody by the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department. Upon notifying the owners of the break in, it was determined that the residence was primarily used as a vacation home and they would have remained unaware of the break in until their next return. State Route 74 is a beautiful scenic route leading from San Juan Capistrano into Palm Desert. There is no need to speed through this two lane highway.
