01/25/2021 Final Trip info...1 Dave Rocchi 268 2 Richard Madison 218 3 Jerome Melad 184 We returned this morning from our 16 day John Collins trip. It was tough ride after a good start. The sign of the better grade tuna took off after a couple of days and we held on in hopes of a return. We were able to scrape up tuna from 25-100# throughout the days and scratch away at the wahoo. The weather was picturesque for the better half of the trip. The crew and myself would like to thank everyone who made the trip and looking forward to seeing y’all in the near future.

TRIP 21-1 Jan 16, 2021 hit and miss....The last few days have been hit or miss for us. We have had a couple shots at some trophies but the overall sign of big fish has perished. We are working at it and hoping for some signal of the big fish to arrive. The days are spent trolling up a few wahoo and there is a bit of 50-90# fish. We have had great weather on our side and we hope for an attack here soon. Wish us luck Matt and Independence crew.

09.18.2020 KELPIN We fished offshore yesterday and found a few productive kelps with some big Mahi and a few Wahoo on them. The guys had a fun time fishing for some good eats. We spent the morning today making a few drifts for Reds and Lings to top things off. We feel very fortunate to have our catch onboard. The guys are breaking down tackle getting ready for the big meet and greet at home. I would like to thank Brian Porter aka Bubba with United Composites for getting the group together. We had a great time with great fishing and excellent company. See you guys tomorrow. Matt and Independence Crew

09.16.2020 WAHOO We made a little move yesterday to hunt for Wahoo and a change of scenery. We had good Wahoo fishing throughout the day with steady action on big Wahoo. The fast skinnies were biting first thing in the morning and we had plenty of opportunities. We made a tour and found some beautiful homeguard Yellowtail to go with it. We had a lot of fun pulling hard with heavy tackle. We are working our way up now hoping to find a kelp offshore today. The weather remains civil with some humidity in the air but no complaints. We are shedding water weight! We will let you know how we do today. Wish us luck. Matt and Independence Crew
