In light of the Corona Virus (COVID-19) we are temporarily halting classes. For everyone's safety at this point we are closing the doors with hopes of re-opening on April 1. I've gone through many phases in coming to this realization. It is clear now that for our members safety that we temporarily close. We are all very fit and healthy so the likelihood of us getting sick is lower and the probability of you surviving given current CDC statistics is 99.4%. However, y...ou have loved ones or are in contact with others who might not be as strong, so we need to do this for their sakes. I am thinking of my family here, not just my wife and daughter, but the rest of my family which means all of you and your loved ones. My hope is that this shall pass and that you help us stick this out. This is a scary time for the world both health wise and economically. Hopefully we can all weather this storm and laugh about it later. In the meantime stay safe, stock up on toilet paper (still don't understand that one) and look to hear from me as we near the 1st. Our HIIT 8 class using Sprint 8 protocals can produce a 27% body fat reduction by dedicating 3 days per week to this class. . . In an independent study by King’s Daughters Medical Center (KDMC) of 22 females aged 30-57, the Sprint 8 program showed a collective body fat reduction of 27% and a BMI decrease of 4%, all within 8 hours of exercise during an 8-week trial. Participants were asked to complete the 20-minute HIIT workout three times per week for 8 weeks, with no specifi...c diet. Participants were free to do their anaerobic interval training on upright or recumbent stationary bikes, treadmills, elliptical trainers or a combination throughout the study. KDMC obtained a panel of lab tests pre- and post-Sprint 8 trial for baseline measurements. This study concludes that when done regularly over just 8 weeks, the Sprint 8 program can produce real results for real people. This is the absolute best way to incorporate pushups into your cycling. . . WHY?. .... . 1) Safety. You're on the ground. It's stable. You've got between 3 and 6 inches to fall. . 2) Efficacy. On the ground you can use approximately 50-75% of your body weight to properly challenge your muscles in your chest, shoulders, arms, upper back and core. When you use the right amount of weight to stress the muscles then the challenge will strain them and then grow stronger. If a majority of your weight is being supported bystanding on the bike then you cant use enough weight to stress the muscles enough to force improvement = less effective = waste of time. Plus, many times push-ups in indoor cycling classes are performed with little to no resistance so the rider can focus their energy on bogus push-ups. So they are Bering doubly cheated since they aren't riding with enough resistance to challenge their leg muscles = less effective riding = waste of time. . . 3) when was the last time you saw outdoor riders doing push-ups while riding? Come on folks... To get the benefits of riding you gotta ride. By that we mean ride with #accountability by riding with sufficient resistance and in realistic cadences. . . Come see us. Thats right we said it because we won't do it. We won't waste your time or money. When you come to our classes you work hard ON A BIKE! If you wouldn't do it outside on the road, you won't do it in our class. . .... . . We aren't going to give you light weights to pretend to challenge you with 30 reps while you're pedalling with little to no resistance so you focus on NOT FALLING OFF. That's stupid. If you want to lift weights, do it in the gym where you can use enough resistance to truly challenge yourself. . . .
