2021 Race Update After a challenging 2020 which saw numerous sporting events cancelled around the world, our teams have been hard at work to prepare safe and enjoyable in-person events for our athletes in 2021, including the IRONMAN 70.3 Oceanside triathlon. Unfortunately, after evaluating of the status of the COVID-19 pandemic, the resulting restrictions in place, and access to certain portions of the course currently prohibited, we regret to inform you that the IRONMA...N 70.3 Oceanside triathlon cannot take place in March and have determined it will be better positioned to return on Oct. 30, 2021. We remain just as focused on creating exceptional race experiences as athletes are in preparing to compete and the decision to the move IRONMAN 70. 3 Oceanside to October is not indicative of changes to any other IRONMAN events at this time. Each event will be evaluated on its own unique set of circumstances. Our team will continue to work hard developing and refining operational plans in a manner consistent with local community objectives and within the guidelines and recommendations set by public health entities as it relates to COVID-19. All registered athletes will be receiving an email with more information. RACE UPDATE When we postponed the IRONMAN 70.3 Oceanside triathlon from its original date of April 4, 2020 to October 24, 2020, we felt confident we would still be able to deliver an exceptional event at the later date. Unfortunately, based on the continued mandate from the State of California and in alignment with local authorities in relation to the COVID-19 pandemic, we regret to advise that the IRONMAN 70.3 Oceanside triathlon cannot take place in 2020 and will ret...urn on March 27, 2021. All registered athletes of the 2020 IRONMAN 70.3 Oceanside triathlon will be receiving an email with further information. IRONMAN VR7 is taking place on the SUPERSEAL sprint course in San Diego on ROUVY This weekend, triathletes of all backgroundswhether you’ve done an IRONMAN 70.3 or notwill have a chance to test their fitness along a virtual stretch of Coronado’s oceanfront Silver Strand. While there may not be a brutal swim or deep sand run to go along with it, athletes will get to engage in some aerobar travel to America’s Finest Cityand the birthplace ...of triathlon.
