Conditions to becoming a Parent Provider
Please join us this Friday, April 9th at 12:00 pm PDT. We'd love to see you there!
FYI - During your initial assessment a Social Worker should advise the parent(s) about the availability and conditions for receiving PS, and the Social Worker not presume that services, which are compensable, will be provided voluntarily by a parent or guardian or anyone else.
Can any 3-year-old be authorized for Protective Supervision? The county is not permitted to presume that a child of any age has a mental functioning score of 1 (No impairment.) The county must assess the minor for mental functioning. The county must determine whether a minor needs more supervision because of his/her mental impairment than would a child of the same age without a mental impairment. A child must not be denied protective supervision solely based on age or because he/she has incurred no injuries at home due to the mental impairment.
