Further Waterfront News. For the first time Ever, we have won a terminal back from the ILWU For decades, Terminal 5 in Seattle (APL) was an IAM shop. It closed in 2014. Port of Seattle decided to reopen and invest $400 moon into facility, picking SSA to run it. SSA has contract with us, but ILWU threatened them into giving them the work, even though they didn’t have enough mechanics to man the job. Just got ruling from NLRB awarding us the work. Should be 50-70 jobs by next year

Good news in the never-ending waterfront wars! Two weeks ago, Local 1546 and Local 289 in Tacoma won a significant victory for our old PMMC members. An NLRB judge ruled that the ILWU has to reimburse our members for all dues and fees they paid to them from 2005 through 2013. Approximately $1.7 million that should double with interest!! All the money goes back to the members

As of today, 7/13/2020 Local 1546's Facebook page has a new editor and it is hoped that -on top of bringing the latest Labor, Pension and Health & Welfare information - that in the near future it can serve as a job board as well - Stay Tuned! In Solidarity -
