For the month of November, we're excited to bring back our fundraising efforts by again highlighting two charities that are near to our heart and we want YOU to get involved. Want to sweat for a good cause? Here's your chance. We've set up Teams at both Movember and Barbells for Boobs for you to join. After you set up your own page, you'll be raising money by performing 1 burpee (or movement of your choice*) per $1 donated. We encourage you to video yourself doing your burpees after each donation and share it on social media. Led by Captain Annie, the Croga Fitness team smashed the 100,000 Meter Challenge! A big congrats to all the members for pushing themselves during the usually sluggish holiday season. The 100KMC is a virtual fitness challenge with the aim of accumulating 100,000 meters via foot, bike or various other means, all between Thanksgiving and Christmas.

We work with clients all the time that are doing HARD workouts in the gym on a daily basis, chasing both aesthetic and performance goals, and not eating NEARLY enough. Doing high intensity workouts and eating the healthy caloric intake of a 4 year old is not acceptable. We get it, what and how you eat depends on a lot of factors: your goals, your output, your body type and composition, etc. BUT, under eating is NOT the answer. Your body NEEDS fuel in order to: Workout hard Build muscle Have energy Regulate your hormones Get quality sleep How you fuel your body should be health and performance driven. Food is fuel. We need to eat in order to recover. All the corrective exercise in the world won’t allow for recovery if you just aren’t eating enough. See more

Powerlifting Class is BACK! Coach Preston will be coaching a 90 minute class from 6:30 to 8 pm every Tuesday starting next week, 10/13. 6 people cap, 2 working inside on major lifts, 4 working outside on accessory movements. This class is open to all members and will count as a class in your membership or punchcard. Please sign up early to reserve your spot. No shows will still be deducted a class or charged $25 for the visit.

Check out our good friends Dr. Wendy and Dr. Nicole’s page @getfitt.ed for helpful information blending fitness and ergonomics for pain free living and work life. #Repost @getfitt.ed We preach a lot about posture even though we know there isn’t a perfect posture. Everyone's a little different but we should definitely strive for our own personal optimal alignment. ... Poor alignment can make it harder for your diastasis and pelvic floor to heal postpartum. One of the most common postures we see in new moms are ribs flared out , hip shifted forward and pelvis tilted anteriorly. Moms slowly develop this posture naturally during the 9 months of pregnancy to accommodate a growing belly. The result: extra stress on core and continued stretching of diastasis rib flare -> dec use of diaphragm -> shallow breath -> belly breathing hanging on spine which causes compression The fix: Weight shift forward so weight is in the middle of foot (vs too much on toes or heels) Shoulders should be slightly in front of your butt Ribs down Pelvis leveled Coming up Thurs and Friday are exercises to help the make the fixes easier attained!

In 2020, there were things out of my control, but my nutrition wouldn’t be one of them. I wanted to take control of my nutrition and better understand how macros would affect my fitness performance and overall well-being, all while still doing IF. In terms of goals, I wanted to lose extra fat, but maintain my strength as best I could. Result? I’ve PR’d multiple times while working with Cody and Croga Nutrition, and have improved on many bodyweight-related movements, which so...me I couldn’t do previously. I’ve learned a lot about actual nutrition and my own body after these few months. I jumped into Croga Nutrition about 11 months ago with zero expectation other than wanting to feel more in control of how I was treating my body outside the gym. I didn't have a target weight, or even a clue as to what that ought to be. Having been an elite level athlete all the way through my college years, and then gone through a period where I truly just let it all go post-retirement, I knew my body was going to be very different than it had been at any point in my life.... And if I'm being honest, assigning a tangible goal scared me. So I committed to whatever plan my Coach, Preston, laid out for me...relentlessly. It has been nothing short of life changing. Yes, the transformation in appearance and tangibly on the scale have been incredible (55lbs lost and about 10 inches off my chest, hips, and waist). But I think for me the biggest breakthrough is in the relationship I have with my body. Both in the way I take care of it, and in the way I feel about it. As my body changed physically, I started to see such huge progress in my performance, that the athlete and competitor that were such a big part of me for so long reappeared. And that has been a blessing. I cannot speak more highly of the way in which the Croga Nutrition Program encourages feeling awesome about all the things your body can do, while also striving to make it better. We completely agree with @syattfitness: If you’re waiting to get motivated before you decide to get up and do the damn thing...you’re gonna be waiting a long fucking time. . Most people think motivation is the first step. .... First you get motivated. Then you take action. Then you get results. . Wrong. . That’s not how it works. . And thinking you’re just going to get motivated is a pipe dream. . First you take action. . Even (and especially) when you aren’t motivated to do it. . Maybe it’s walking 5min/day. . Maybe it’s drinking a glass of water before you eat. . Maybe it’s having 1 piece of fruit every day before 10am. . Maybe it’s counting your calories one day/week. . I don’t care what it is. . I just care that you pick something to do and do it. . Because this equation begins with action. . From your action you get results. . From your results you get motivated. . With that motivation you take more action. . And so the cycle continues. . But it all starts with action. . So, please. . Stop waiting until you’re motivated. . Make the decision to do something every day that will get you closer to achieving your goals. . And do it. . Every day. . Even when you don’t want to. . Then you’ll get results. . Nine months in vs nine months out. And yesterday I hit my goal weight!! Seeing we can’t celebrate much this year, I figured a little self-love might motivate someone. No magic pill, no crazy restrictive diet. Just work hard. Day in and day out.
