The Humor Masters club enjoyed a day of Virtual pie eating and throwing in celebration of National pie day. While no real pies were present, we had fun with pie related table topics and a humor workshop. We even learned how to do the Hustle during our educational tip. We also enjoyed an insightful speech from our guest speaker Lannie Pihajlic. Lannie’s speech taught about the essential elements of learning. During our last Humor workshop, we engaged in a lively debate about Toilet Paper orientation. Yes, we did spend time discussing the merits of rolling it over or under. Each member and guest - had to take the opposing argument and run with it making it convincing and funny. We had great fun with it while keeping it clean. It was basically a way to practice improv with a friendly audience. Our VP of education, Ed Smith, lead this workshop and, in the end, shared with us that the original patent showed the fold was over the roll. Well, I don’t think the issue is settled. Do you wonder what is so special about our specialty club - the Humor Masters? We still do the typical Toastmaster activities like speeches, table-topics, and vote counting - but we do it with a comedy flare. During our open house, our president Silvia Swigert delivered her speech The Real Story. It is the story of how Mr. Wolf was framed for the murder of the three pigs. Our club completed a successful and fun-filled open house. We welcomed several guests - one from Tokyo, Japan, presented achievement awards, engaged in comic table-topics, listened to a very funny speech from our president, and heard the keynote speech from Mike Crosby. The Humor Masters club today held a vote and the majority of members agreed to add another monthly meeting. The meeting will be on a Saturday from 10 AM to 11:30 AM. This additional meeting is a chance for members to work on their chosen path, present more speeches, and participate in more roles.
