Humans and other miracles of Los Angeles

I Wanna Break Free :)

Many consider California a true paradise on the Earth. Though, this state takes a sad first place by the numbers of natural disasters due to earthquakes and wildfires. Due to global warming, fires occur more frequently, last longer, and spread fiercely over large areas. And then you have to be ready to evacuate at any moment of the day or night. And before that, to suffocate, sometimes for weeks, without enough oxygen in toxic smog, hoping that firefighters will stop the fire... and you won’t have to run. Over the past 3 years, my husband and I nearly lost our home twice (at first the past, a year later where we live now: the fire was stopped just a mile away). Therefore, in the New Year I wish California life without fires and force-majeures, in any sense. And not only California. Adventures they are attractive only to little boys and only in movies. But in real life all we need rest and peace. Especially when your spine is broken (as I have now) and you couldn’t sleep on a camp-cot in an evacuation center-school gym (in addition, you are also an introvert and would have gone insane in the constant surroundings of hundreds of people 24 hours non-stop). And in hotels, a place is very difficult to find in case of mass evacuations. Thanks to the Universe for not having to evacuate this year. Wish you all health and well-being! See more
