Touted in newspaper advertisements as Pasadena’s new million-dollar hotel, the Constance Hotel was hailed for its location and upscale clientele when it opened in 1926. The seven-story fireproof hotel, designed by architect McNeal Swasey for Pasadena’s annual influx of winter residents, and named after owner and developer Mrs. Constance Perry.
