#NationalVolunteerWeek provides the opportunity to recognize the millions of Americans who provide volunteer service in communities across the country. At Hospice of Humboldt, over 100 trained volunteers give selflessly to help people live as fully as possible, even when facing a serious or life-limiting illness. Even though our volunteers can't yet visit patients and their families in the home as they used to before the pandemic, they are making a difference by at the Ida Emmerson Hospice House, facilitating Grief Support Meetings through Zoom, making phone calls to our patients and families, and much more! #volunteersmakeadifference

This wonderful program at Auburn Crest Hospice is capturing the oral histories of hospice patients for families to treasure. Working with a public historian, patients are offered an opportunity to create a legacy of how they want to be remembered.

Tsunami Test Today WHEN: Wednesday, March 24, 2021, between 11:00 a.m. & 12:00 Noon WHERE: Del Norte, Humboldt, and Mendocino counties. HOW: Interruptions of TV* and Radio Stations, and activation of NOAA Weather Radios and Outdoor Sirens. (*Not all Cable and Satellite TV Stations may be able to participate) WHY: To test the Tsunami Warning System to ensure it works properly during a real tsunami emergency.
