Spring Welcome to the start of a new cycle. The season of growth, movement, expansion, and rebirth. Moving from yin to yang. Celebrate by doing one new thing today. You might also think of 3 words that you’d like to set as your words of the year. Put them in places where you’ll be reminded of them often. Last year’s blog on how to make the seasonal shift into Spring is linked in my profile.

Let’s talk about omega- 3’s for healthy cycles and healthy pregnancy Omega 3 fatty acids are in a category called essential fatty acids, or EFAs. Essential meaning that our bodies do not produce them so we must get them via diet or supplementation. The benefits are endless really, but for the purpose of regulating the menstrual cycle and/or getting pregnant, here’s a few reasons why you need ‘em: healthy fats help make hormones and also help balance hormones. They fight inflammation, increase blood flow to the uterus (which increases the chances of implantation), and facilitate the opening of the follicle to release the egg. Just to name a few. Happy Tuesday that feels like a Monday.

Springtime sun tea! Dandelion root, hibiscus, and rose. All herbs that support the mind and body's transition into spring. Make your own: you can use tea bags or loose herbs/ tea. Fill a large jar or glass pitcher with spring water, add a generous handful of loose herbs or 3-5 teabags, depending on your preference for potency. Let the mixture soak up the magic of the sun for a day or two. Strain and enjoy! #diy #plantmedicine

Do you feel like your energy has come down a little over the past few weeks? Maybe you're experiencing a little digestive upset or foggy thinking? In Chinese medicine there are 5 seasons rather than four, with the additional one being late summer, which we've just entered. This time corresponds to the earth energy, the spleen and stomach, and our ability to digest and process our food as well as our experiences. After our yearly energetic peak with the fire element of summer ...we are slowly beginning our descent into a more inward state. Post-summer, pre-fall. Because we can't go directly from fire to ice, just like Mother Nature, we must ease into each new phase with grace and awareness. Add warm foods, sleep one more hour, trade in one day of high endurance exercise for a meditation class or restorative yoga. Happy late summer! #fivephases See more
